Welcome to the Mixtape

Well hello bloggers,
Welcome to my great escape of the real world, my free vacation where I can set my problems aside, my world of music. For my first blog, I figured i'd do a quick review and playlist for you guys.

Album to be discussed: The Carter IV
By: Lil Wayne

I'm going to start off by saying the past year of Lil Wayne has absolutely annoyed me. Lil Wayne has a knack for rapping about 3 things: how much money he has, women and having sex with them, and how he is the greatest. Sorry Wayne fans but personally, I think there is rappers much more artistically creative and better with their lyrics than Lil Wayne, in my eyes he is mediocre. Before listening to this cd I had a negative attitude about it, but since so many people have been talking about how much of a genius he is I figured it was worth a listen.
I must admit, I was impressed by some of the songs on this albums, rather than any of the songs on his I Am Not a Human Being album. Now don't get my words twisted because 3/4 of this album is still the same cocky Lil Wayne that uses the N word every other line. But songs such as "Mirror" feat bruno mars, "How to Hate" feat T-Pain, and his song about his beef with Jay-Z: "Its Good" (Feat. Drake and Jadakiss) are good, and go deeper then saying "i'm the best" throughout the whole song. I find the rest of the album pointless. I know people are obsessed with "How to Love" but I can't take Lil Wayne seriously rapping about love seeing as he has 3 baby mamas and goes through a girl a day. My best advice for this album, don't buy it, buy the choice few good songs and save your money.

Songs to consider listening to:
"The Scientist"-Mike Posner
A sick remake of Coldplays song "The Scientist" it's one of my new obsessions.
"My Body"-Young The Giant
I first discovered it on the VMA's and have loved there sound ever since.
"First Love"-Uffie
Definitely a girl song, good to jam to in the car.
"Thats My Shh"- Jason Derulo
Sexy song, probably more of a girl song, sorry boys.
"Pumped up Kicks"- Foster the People
The beat and music in this song is so sick.
"Walk Away"- The Script feat B.o.B
Good story line, good mixture of voices.

Feel free to suggest some albums or songs that you find intresting enough to talk about, I'm not bias against any genre.
Rock on!
